Typically it takes between two and three days to put up a residential fence, from the time we arrive at site, till the job is completed. This is because most fences require concrete footings, and the concrete takes 24 hours to cure. We want to ensure your fence is strong!
The wait time between paying your deposit and giving us the go ahead, and the installers arriving at site can vary from a couple of weeks to a couple of months, depending on what you are wanting done and the other work have already committed to completing. Some materials, such as gates, take a month or more to be ordered and transported. Good things take time. We will give you an indication of time frame when you get your quote or pay your deposit, and contact you close to the install date to let you know your installation is coming up. You can always give us a ring to see where things are at.
After a storm event, where there has been widespread damage to fencing, there may be many people needing work done and our supplier’s stocks can run out. In these cases, the wait can be longer.

For residential fencing projects we require a deposit to be paid before the fencing materials are ordered and installation is commenced. Full payment is expected upon completion.
Commercial clients may be able to negotiate credit terms.
-
Absolutely! In most cases, neighbours split the cost of the fence being completed between their properties. We invoice both parties for the deposit and end payments.
We require a full deposit and a signed agreement from both/all neighbours involved before we can commence a job. This means that the better the communication between you and your neighbour, the faster we can get moving on your fence. We encourage you to work together to ensure the best outcome for both parties.

Our installers work carefully to minimise the impact on your garden. If you have particularly valuable or sentimental plants within 1m of the fence line, please let us know. If these can be transplanted or temporarily potted, that is generally the safest option.
Another factor you should consider is the type of fence you select. Colorbond or Brushwood fencing only requires the digging of holes for the supporting poles.
Please be aware that we can take no responsibility for damage to underground services or reticulation which has been placed where you are asking us to install a fence. If you know where these are, please let your installer know, and all care will be taken to minimise damage to these.

Every fence we install has a 2 year warranty on our workmanship.
BlueScope Steel offers a warranty of 10 years* on ColorBond Fencing from the date of installation against corrosion to perforation by weathering in the natural elements. BlueScope Steel also warrants that the paint system will not flake or peel due to natural weathering for 10 years* which applies when used in fencing applications located greater than one kilometre from a marine environment:
*Warranty terms and conditions apply. Warranties are not available for all products and applications. The duration and terms and conditions of available warranties vary according to product use and application.

ColorBond Fencing is often more cost effective option due to two main factors:
- ColorBond is lighter, more compact and much easier to transport and install.
- The installation of a Colorbond fence is fairly fast – 1-2 days for a shorter section. This is because we only need to dig out the post holes, not the entire fence line.

Generally speaking, both or all neighbours on each side of a dividing fence are expected to split the cost of it.
Each neighbour will contact our office for an individual quote. Each party must give consent in writing and pay deposits before work begins – the faster you communicate and agree with your neighbour, the faster we can get started.
The type of fence, height and colour needs to be mutually agreed upon by all parties.
Check out our blog for information on the WA Dividing Fences act and how it applies to fencing disputes.

Absolutely! You will need to let us know you intend to do this so that we can give you warning prior to your install date to get the job done.
However, if your fence is SuperSix Asbestos, we’d strongly discourage this. There are several restrictions that apply to handling asbestos which mean this is best left to professionals who are registered to handle asbestos waste safely. We can point you in the right direction.

As we are based in Bunbury, most travel within the greater Bunbury region from Australind to Dalyellup is not charged.
For areas outside of this, we do reserve the right to charge travel costs. Naturally we will let you know these costs at the time of quoting.

No.
As we provide a warranty on all of our work and operate as a professional, registered business, every job receives a tax invoice.

Unfortunately many pre-1990 fences in WA were made of asbestos. Asbestos is extremely dangerous, and can cause serious permanent health issues. If it scrapes your skin or is breathed into your lungs, the sharp and unevenly shaped fibres of the material can work their way into your flesh and move deeper with movement. It is a particularly nasty condition to deal with and causes long-term irritation and illness.
For this reason, the WA Government has applied a number of restrictions on the handling and disposal of all asbestos materials, including fencing. They now also require an inspection from an accredited Asbestos inspector. Due to this, we now outsource any asbestos removals.
T&V Fencing can put you in contact with an accredited asbestos removal contractor.

Good communication solves a raft of issues before they begin. If you are aware of anything which will need doing before or after your fence, or you have specific expectations or ideas of what your fence should be like, please take the time to explain these to your quoter when they come to your property or site.
Please keep in mind that we are fence installers. We are not landscapers, tilers, handymen or gardeners. All care is taken, but if extra work must be done, we will either charge you to complete it, or you will need to find your own specialist, depending on what needs doing.
Some ways to ensure a hassle-free installation are:
- clear the fenceline – we have found old cars, rubbish stacked against the fence, overgrown vines and trees – these take time to remove and you will be charged by the hour to do so.
- Ensure you know where underground services and reticulation are. We are not liable for fixing or replacing these should they be damaged during the fence installation.
- Make plans for keeping pets and children safe while your fencing is done. It might take 2-3 days. Plan accordingly. You could keep them inside or ask a friend to care for them.
